BODYS CELLS

There are several types of diabetes, all of which require diabetic supplies. The most common forms of diabetes are type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Some women when pregnant can get gestational diabetes, which usually will not last after the baby is born. Some women are more predisposed to it than others. It usually is not that bad, but it can last and you will have to treat it appropriately. In type 1 diabetes, the pancreas makes little or no insulin. People with type 1 diabetes need insulin shots in order to stay alive. Type 1 diabetes can come on at any age, but is usually seen most in children and young adults. With type 2 diabetes, the pancreas produces some insulin, but the amount is either not enough or is not effective enough, since the body’s cells are resistant to it. Some people with type 2 diabetes need insulin to regulate their blood glucose levels, while others will respond well to just changing and maintaining a good and healthy diet and exercise. Or with a combination of diet, exercise and oral medication. Type 2 diabetes can occur at any age, but is most often seen after age 40. Some ethnic groups as well are more predisposed to getting diabetes. Having a family history as well will up your chances that you will develop diabetes even if you’re healthy.
